1/2 Plate Wood & Brass camera by Thornton Pickard of Altrincham, Cheshire UK.
This rare beautiful camera is in remarkably good condition.
Dimensions when folded: H 21 cm, W 21 cm D 6 cm approx (excluding lens and shutter).
The camera has standard horizontal sliding movements and a vertical front swing.
Bellows are in good condition, I can’t see any light leaks.
The Thornton Pickard double roller blind shutter mechanism works as it should. It has a new pull cord and tassel.
Wood finish is in good condition and I haven’t found any damaged areas.
There are a few bits of damage to metalwork but does not prevent it from working.
All controls, rack & pinions, are in working condition.
The viewing glass is in good condition. The hinges all work fine.
Lens is clear and working.
A beautiful masterpiece of craftsmanship and quality.
Double extension Bellows. Two focusing pinions both operate inner frame situated at the front and back of the bed. Straight cut rack and pinion. Rising front, tilting front, tilting back. Removable lens panel. Turntable in base.
Additions to tripod mounts to accomodate a later type tripod, easily removed to return to original.
A working usable camera in good condition for its age.
