1/2 Plate Mahogany & Brass camera by Thornton Pickard of Altrincham, Cheshire UK.
This rare, beautiful, mahogany camera is in remarkably good condition.
The camera has standard horizontal sliding movements in two directions and a vertical front swing.
Bellows are in good condition, I can’t see any holes.
Wood finish is in good condition with no damaged areas.
All controls are in working condition, rack & pinions are smooth.
The viewing glass is in good condition and the hinges work fine.
Part restored, looking good, still needs a couple of extra items to complete.
Shutter and lens still needed to be ready for use.
Base has an new addition for tripod mounting (this could be removed if not needed).
Dimensions when folded: H 20 cm, W 20 cm D 6.5 cm approx.
Still a superbly engineered camera, expensive in its day and great value now.
