Sanderson Junior Hand And Stand Camera Type 2

The Sanderson camera was produced by Houghton and manufactured by Holmes Brothers.

Sanderson cameras, both field and ‘Hand and Stand’ forms, are based on F.H. Sanderson’s patent of 1895. Junior Popular introduced in 1903 square cornered bellows, type 2, ring shaped clamp to front standard.

Manufactured early 1900s.

Folding plate camera for 3 ½ x 4 ¼ plates.

Black leather covered body with polished mahogany interior and brass fittings.

Double extending front on brass and mahogany rail.

Rise, fall and swing front panel.

Back panel with glass focus screen.

Side carry strap.

The leather covering is in good condition with normal signs of use

Bellows are in excellent condition with no damage.

Compur shutter works at all speeds; most speeds seem correct, slow speeds appear slower.

There is a glass focus screen in good condition.

Fold out mechanism slides correctly.

There is some tarnishing to the brass work.

Viewfinder is present and in good condition.

There is no spirit in the level.

Side carry strap is in good condition.

Carl Zeiss Tessar 15cm lens is quite clean.

It is a vintage used item so please remember when bidding it is not in mint condition and I may not have found all flaws or faults. It may not be in fully working condition although all the controls appear in working order.
